We will be making extensive use of the Redshift software, both in class and for homework. You can use the computers in AW Smith room 419 for your homework, they have Redshift installed. Also additional readings will be assigned from several books which will be available at the Kelvin Smith Library on Reserve.

There will be homework sets given out every 1 - 2 weeks, short tests approximately every 2 weeks, and a final exam. There will also be a major homework assignment (15% of final grade) to make observations of the sky during the semester and keep a logbook of your observations.

Grades: Homework: 40% Tests: 30% Final: 30%

Classes will be interactive, with group discussions of the material presented.
