The Dark Energy Survey

The Dark Energy Survey will be a 5000 sq-degree
survey of the South Galactic Cap using 5 optical bands
and reaching about i=24. The construction of the new
62 CCD camera DECam is proceeding and first light
on the Blanco 4m is scheduled for Oct 2011. We'll use
the survey data to make a high precision measurement
of w using 4 different probes: SN, photometric BAO, WL
power spectrum, and cluster counts. The DES approach to
cluster count cosmology will be described in some detail.
